For a brief moment, I was in love with you.
As the highway lights carefully swept over you, gently blanketing you, softly soothing you, as you dozed in and out of your beauty snooze in the passenger seat, feigning interest, faking tiredness-
As you breathed lightly, slowly, but restlessly, in between sighing and whispering, in between smiling and laughing, at my desperate, feeble attempts to keep you awake, with nonsensical stories about-
Cooking up kuah kacang using peanut butter, or
Driving up to Duluth in the middle of winter,
-I could see how it is very possible for us.
I could see a flattering glimpse of how beautiful you really are.
You turned towards me, half awake, eyes closed, tired and dazed.
"Is tonight gonna be the last time I see you before you leave for Bintulu-", you paused, unsure, "-or do you wanna have breakfast?"
I wondered how deep am I in your Friend Zone.
"Let's have breakfast."
Let's have breakfast. So that I could tell you why I suddenly decided to come to you on a whim over that weekend, a thousand miles over the sea, with a bag full of dirty laundry, and a pair of running shoes, and a lot of college-days stories that I know you will not be amused.
Author's notes - (Thank you for being there for me)
On a silly note, I think both animal's facial expression is pretty goddamn funny.
